As an entrepreneur, you most likely found yourself exactly where you are due to passion and purpose. You didn’t necessarily sign up to be a “salesperson”. Here’s the truth. You sell every single day to your husband, kids, friends, clients, and even strangers! Truthfully all the time and you may just not realize it and if you’re honest with yourself it’s no big deal… right? So, I would like to take a minute to encourage you to sell like crazy! Your clients are buying from somewhere and if it’s not from you… then who? Years ago, when I was behind the chair my manager challenged a handful of us to narrow our backbar down to what we think we could sell. Then her next comment was, “How will you do hair if I take all these products away? Yes, even the ones you love!” Think about the time you spend helping your client look and feel amazing and then for some reason you retract and out of fear of feeling pushy and you let them walk out the door with nothing. Does this sound familiar? If so, I want to offer you a few ideas of how you can get your sales increased by 20% or higher! Know your products and services. Talk about them before, during, and after the service (Mindset Shift: It’s okay they came to you for your service, the rest is a bonus.) STOP assuming they can’t afford it. (Mindset Shift: Who are we to make the decision for them of what they want to spend their money on?) Now more than ever you may have to swap some products/services out for ones you loved so find the next best thing. (Mindset Shift: Talk about it like it’s the best thing on the market because let’s be real; it is!) Lastly, I’m going to challenge you to think about yourself for a minute – it’s the easiest raise you will ever get! Give yourself the compliments you’d give your best friend, smile, and just be you! I want to encourage you to set a goal, clean up your backbar, rethink sales, and serve your client to the fullest and I promise you as they get ready in the morning, they will have a smile on their face versus feeling frustrated that they can’t get their hair to do what you did!
