Cold & Flu Season: 20 Tools I Used to Get Healthy December 30, 2023 by Jessica StapfSharePostSharePinEven the healthiest people get sick. “It’s the most wonderful time of the year.” Isn’t it? As you know or may experience, the downside to the holidays and all the gatherings is that it comes with what some call the “cold and flu season.” A few things occur as we do our best to enjoy the festivities. Added stress, less sleep, and food that may not be ideal creeps in, and then our immune system says, “WAIT, I AM ON OVERLOAD…CAN YOU HELP ME?!” A few weeks ago, I came home from a trip and felt down and out. I am a very healthy person in general, yet even the healthiest people get sick. Although I didn’t feel well, I was grateful to have a toolbox full of my favorite things to help me feel better faster. Our body is brilliant, and when given the tools, it works together to heal itself, so I choose to go as naturally as possible. I decided this was the time for me to shout from the rooftop my top 20 go-to activities and products. Even if you try one of them, I promise you will be glad you added it to your routine! Below are 20 tools I use to stay healthy. Prayer. This is my first and foremost #1 thing I do every morning before getting out of bed. I have felt some amazing shifts, no matter what state my health is in. *If you want me to add you to my prayers, respond “PRAYER” to this, and you can share as much or as little as you want. Vitamin C, D, Zinc. I take these supplements almost daily to build my immune system back up when I am not feeling well. Most people are low in Vitamin D but unfortunately don’t know it because it’s not added to the recommended standard bloodwork. Essential Oils. I use a whole list of essential oils to get me through the season! Here are a few of my favorite ones… Onguard – Immune boosting, Breathe- Respiratory support, Lemon- Cleansing, Frankincense – Overall body support, Serenity- Rest and relaxation. *If you want me to send you a sample package, respond “OILS” to this with your top health challenge (Sleep, Muscle tension, Anxiousness). BEMER. My BEMER has been one of the primary tools I use for better blood flow and circulation in just 8 minutes 2x a day. It used to take me about 10 minutes of stretching and preparing my body to get out of bed every morning. I was very stiff and not anymore. *If you are interested in learning more or a complimentary session, respond “BEMER” to this, and I will contact you. Apple Cider Vinegar. I dilute Apple Cider Vinegar with warm water and drink it. This helps to balance my PH and creates a place for healthier digestion. And a little secret: a healthy gut is key to our immunity! EFT Tapping. Okay, so this will be one that you may not have heard of yet. It can be the most incredible tool for relaxing the nervous system and calming the brain from stress and overwhelm. *If you want my FREE e-book on implementing this, respond “TAPPING” to this. It truly has changed my life and all the people I have guided through sessions, too! Essential Emotions Session. This has been my go-to for quick emotional breakthroughs and I love that I get to utilize my favorite essential oils with it. It is something I feel works great when someone guides you through a session and yet is so beautifully simple you can do it yourself if you prefer. When we heal emotionally, our body is given the opportunity to heal too. *If you would like a 15-minute breakthrough session respond “ESSENTIAL EMOTIONS” to this. Probiotic. Gut health is everything! I take dŌTERRA’s probiotics to keep things operating smoothly. Again, our gut health is our immune system. What I love about this one is it is created to release in the appropriate areas for the optimum results. Most of them don’t make it that far, as the acid in our digestive system takes care of it before it gets the opportunity to do its job. *If you want a sample, respond “PROBIOTIC” to this. Magnets. Well, this is my newest exploration, and honestly, I have lots to learn, yet what I do know is they work for many things, and the testimonies I have heard are definitely enough for me to go all in with them. *If you are interested in how Biomagnetism can support you, respond “MAGNETS” to this, and I will get you more info about the one I went with! Supplements. This is a must for me and my health as we all know the quality of our food has diminished throughout the years. As much as I try to eat organic, unfortunately, a whole process has unfolded through the years, so the nutrients our body craves are stripped away at different levels. That is why a good supplement regimen is so important. *Are you interested in which ones I use and why? If so, respond “SUPPLEMENTS” to this. Elderberry. Elderberry is so beneficial when you’re not feeling well. It’s jam-packed with antioxidants that help restore your immune system. Infrared Sauna. There are countless benefits of an infrared sauna. It helps to release toxins from the body, boosts circulation, fights fatigue, reduces inflammation, and so much more. If you have access to one this is one you don’t want to skip when your immune is compromised! *I love having this in my home, and if you want to know why I chose mine and what brand, respond “INFRARED” to this. Lymphatic Work. Your lymphatic system fights against infection. Doing some gentle massage to ensure the fluid is moving through your lymphatic system properly helps keep it working as effectively as possible. I like to use a dry brushing technique, and Gua Sha works amazingly, too! Massage. A full-body massage helps to relax the body by improving blood flow and circulation and helping stimulate the lymphatic system. This is so beneficial, especially on a monthly basis. My mind loves the rest, also! Cupping. Cupping is a common practice that helps relieve tension, which, in turn, can help boost immune function. Warning… you will be left with marks, and I have looked pretty silly at times, but it’s worth it, I promise! Nutrition. Feeding my body with the right nutrients leads to a quicker recovery. I focus on eating a well-balanced diet, and when my body needs rest, I keep things simple like bone broth, juicing, and smoothies so the extra energy my body needs to heal is not wasted on breaking down foods. This, in turn, gives my body the energy to release what it needs and absorb what will help it restore. A/O Scan. This has been a tool that has kept me in awe for a few years now. It’s all about natural frequencies and energy, and no, this is NOT who-who it’s science. The scan measures and optimizes frequencies to help improve your emotional state and well-being. I utilize this daily, and you can too. It’s easy and incredibly effective. *If you want a complementary Inner Voice scan, respond “INNER VOICE” to this. Acupuncture. This is one of the most incredible experiences I have had when seeking support outside of my home. I do not love needles, yet the impact it makes on my overall health is priceless. I have been having acupuncture for over ten years now, and it will always be a part of my health boost. Honey/Tea. Honey and tea help to soothe and coat my throat when I have discomfort. I take a spoonful or add it to my hot tea. My grandma started me on this when I was a little girl, and it is still my go-to. I love the Throat Coat Tea by Traditional Medicine. IV drip. Last but not least, this has been a huge part of my toolbox for the last three years as I prepared for surgeries and needed support post-surgery. It is a game changer in immune boosting, and the list of benefits is endless. This is it if you want to unlevel your body and rejuvenate your immune system. *If you want to get more insight on IV Drips, respond “IV DRIP” to this. I hope the cold and flu season bypasses you and your family completely. But if you want to be proactive and/or it doesn’t, these are a few amazing tools to help you get through it. And remember, REST is when our body does its most important work in keeping us healthy, so do your best not to skip out on sleep! Cheers to you and your health!
