Branding You! December 16, 2021 by Jessica StapfSharePostSharePinHave you ever been told you need a brand? Whether you’re a solopreneur or a small or large business owner, you’ve probably heard the term thrown around. I will be straight up with you; when I was a hairstylist, I spent a few years trying to figure the whole branding thing out. The concept was confusing to me. I wanted to stand apart from my fellow hairstylists, but I also wanted to be a part of the company brand. To put it simply, I just wanted potential clients to think about me when they need to get their hair done. After taking a few branding courses and struggling with this concept, one day, it hit me… I am my brand. I didn’t need to create it, and I was it! What a relief this was, and if you are anything like me, I was relieved that I didn’t have to keep trying to create something new or be someone I wasn’t. Take some time to think about your clientele, and honestly, they are probably very similar to you in many ways. They came to you and continue to stay with you because of some sort of a connection you have. The stretch in this is not to lose sight of who you are but to get more grounded in who you are. Here are a few questions to ask yourself… What brings me joy? Then talk about it! What kind of style do I love wearing? And then rock it! Do I show up to work put together and ready for my day? Do I wear makeup or no makeup? Am I dressing for success, or do I look like I just rolled out of bed? How do I communicate with my clients? What do you want to be remembered for? “At the end of the day, people won’t remember what you did. They will remember how you made them feel.” -Maya Angelou Your brand is you. This may be something you’ve already figured out, and I want you to remember to show up as you every single day. Instead of worrying about how you’re portraying your brand, spend more time getting grounded in your true self. My friend, if you do this, you’ll attract your dream clients in a way that explodes your brand and your business.
