Unlock Success by Mastering Your Day October 17, 2018 by Jessica StapfShareTweetSharePinI’m sure you have experienced one day in your life where you crawled into bed and thought, “Jeez, I didn’t get to anything I wanted to today”. How frustrating right? I believe if you don’t plan your day someone or something else will. We all know that change isn’t always easy and usually doesn’t happen overnight, so I want to share some simple steps you can take to get your life back and live in your zone of genius. You were created for a purpose and in order for that to shine and unfold you need to decide your action steps in moving forward to a joy-filled life. I promise you, when you start deciding how your time will be filled it changes everything! Self-Reflect First ask yourself, “If I want to up level what does that look like to me?” I often suggest journaling this out. Journaling gives you a chance to be creative while being completely open with yourself. To get started, imagine a day filled with everything that brings you joy with only a few must-dos in there and write them down in detail and in the present for as if they are happening. This will help you to see clearly what your up leveled life will look like and your brain does not know the difference to it begins to believe it and achieving it. Plan Get a planner that makes you smile and stretches your thinking beyond one day. I have used a few that I really loved and each year I search for the one that speaks to me and my goals for the year. Funny but true, it is so exciting for me to pick it out. It’s a symbol of celebration of what was and new beginnings for the next season. Time Block My friends, this changes everything… Decide two things; what’s most important to you and what’s required of you to do to keep your life moving forward. Fill these things into your calendar first. I suggest leaving margin for flow time because the reality is life happens and we need space to regroup. If we don’t allow this space, it’s easy to feel frustrated knowing that we weren’t able to do it all. Avoid this feeling by allowing space in your calendar. Goal Setting Goal and vision setting is HUGE! I can’t express this enough. Yes, I think it’s important to live in the present but, I also think allowing yourself to think big and dream tells your heart to go outside of the expected and creates space for change. I suggest keeping this right in your planner and look at it daily. Familiarize with The Word, No You get to say “NO” if your calendar does not have the space for something. Even if it means you say no to something important to you, flip open your calendar and allow yourself the privilege and peace of kindly saying “thank you but that just doesn’t fit into my schedule”. I’m here to tell you, there is no explanation necessary! No simply means no and life will move on. Celebrate and Recharge Last but not least, pick a day each week where you celebrate what was and plan for what will be. I like Sunday’s because it’s usually a day with little expected of me and I can think ahead for meals and activities for the upcoming week. This time allows me to celebrate, plan and recharge and without it I often feel overwhelmed heading into the next week. Plan a time or day to avoid overwhelm!
