Become Physically Enhanced April 7, 2022 by Jessica StapfShareTweetSharePinFour Steps Towards a Better You We’re four months into the year – how are your New Year’s goals coming? Do you find yourself feeling really great, moving your body, drinking all the water, and then life happens; your son has late practice, or your daughter has a birthday party. Maybe your friends who you haven’t seen in a while are in town. Do you ever feel like you’ve lost your groove? Maybe you haven’t worked out in a while, so you continue to do so rather than starting again because it’s easier? Have you ever dreaded a workout but you still did it? And at the end of that workout, you felt SO much better. You’re proud, happy, even excited about life? I’ve SO been here. All of it. Whatever it is for you… it happens to everyone. Life happens. After all, that’s the beauty of life, isn’t it? The small moments, the spontaneity, and even the messy middle. But how do you keep on going? How do you pick back up where you left off? How do you feel better again? I have a few simple tips to shift your mindset around your physical health while reaching those health goals that you have for yourself. Do it for you. Don’t do it for the number on the scale, the rings on your Apple watch, or to check it off the list. Shift your mindset about how moving your body makes you feel. Be grateful that your body is capable of moving in this way. Find ways to be consistent. We are what we do. Remove the stigma that it has to be a certain thing or specific type of workout in order for it to “count”. It doesn’t have to be extreme; it just must be consistent. Find things that bring you joy and implement them daily. Find JOY in it. The truth is if you can’t find joy in moving your body, it will always be something you dread; like anything in life! Want to know a little secret? You can choose joy. Dance to your favorite song in the bathroom, jump on the trampoline with your kiddos, go on a nature walk. The opportunities are endless and there’s joy in movement. Prioritize yourself. Did you know that 30 minutes of your day equates to about 10% of your day? I’m here to tell you that it’s NOT selfish to take time out of your day for you. It’s quite honestly the opposite of that. Remove the story you’re telling yourself about why you can’t take time for yourself. Prioritize you for you. Find your groove and remember, the best plan is the one that you follow through with. Keep a fresh perspective around what makes you feel good and keep that top-of-mind. If you’re loving this insight and would like additional support in your health goals, reach out to me!
